H&M turtleneck sweater / Chanel bag / Zara coated jeans / Aldo 'Fredola' lace up heels
Photography by: Melissa De Mata

When it comes to finding the perfect Winter sweater, my standards come pretty high. I have super sensitive skin and direct contact with wool fibers can cause me to flare up, sparking an allergic reaction. If you're like me, you know the sweater struggle is real. In my search, I've learned a few things from trying on what feels like a hundred sweaters before landing on the right one and they consist of 3 main components being quality, comfort and care.

Quality
Thick wool yarns often feel heavy and rough against my skin, making me insanely itch, so I usually look for cashmere or synthetic blends made from a mix of acrylic, cotton and polyester fibers. These yarns feel softer and lay smoother on the skin.

 Comfort
Touch it. Feels prickly? That’s already a bad sign. Lay it against your neck. If your skin starts to crawl, then move on. When the sweaters on, it should feel the same way a blanket does when it’s wrapped around you. You’re instantly at ease, warm and cozy.

Care
Fold your knits neatly. At all costs, avoid hanging them. You’ll get sharp hanger marks around the shoulders, changing it’s shape. The yarns will also stretch and overtime, it will grow twice as long.

Hope these tips help! I've linked to a few styles below to take the burden off the search :)

When it really starts feeling like Fall, I love reaching back into my closet to discover again those
cold weather staples from years past: this cashmere turtleneck sweater and these suede over-the-knee boots, currently my two favorite pieces and the easiest Fall look to put together. Though I bought them last Winter, they've turned out to be great investments. An oldie, but goodie indeed.

FAUX SUEDE MOTO JACKET - TAKE TWO

Photography by: Melissa De Mata

I've been pretty much living in this moto jacket lately. Camel pairs so well not only with the season, but with nearly any other color. Plus, for those Fall days that are surprisingly warm, it's light enough in weight that I can carry it without feeling like a snowball or even do the cool-girl thing and tie it around my waist. It's definitely one of those pieces that will get beat up by years end, but that always happens to your favorite items, anyways right?

The kind of outfit that take the least amount of pieces and seconds to put together always end up to be my favorite ones. If I had to describe my style formula, it would reflect the items I'm wearing here - a silk cami dress with my latest love, this smooth faux-suede moto jacket. Feminine flair with a touch of edgy details. It's the perfect outfit to say bye to Summer and hello to Fall in.

Plaid Shirt + White Jeans

Photography by Melissa De Mata

A white on white ensemble always feels light and airy in the Summertime. It's one of my favorite go-to's of the season. This time around, I punched things up with a splash of color and white skinny jeans. To get the relaxed look, I roll up the sleeves, undo a few buttons and went with the half tuck on the shirt. Such an easy outfit to put together, yet looks fresh and effortless.

SUMMER LOVIN'

Photography by Melissa De Mata

A wide brimmed hat, a trusty pair of sunnies and a playful romper. Whether it's a weekend trip, tropical getaway or beach day, these are the Summer staples I always make sure to pack along. Function with fashion, they get the job done.

The jumpsuit is from Reformation, a label I'm currently obsessed with. Boo..this one's currently out of stock, but I've added similar tie-front styles below, just as cute. Promise. :)
